Introduction :
Organic Fenugreek is an herb grown in Tribal belt of Kandhamal region of Orissa. It is one of the oldest known herbs, and was used extensively by ancient civilizations. Fenugreek seeds is used as a spice and fenugreek leaves are eaten as vegetable India, China and the Middle East for centuries. The practitioners of Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine have documented and used Methi seeds for its many medicinal uses.

The spice is exported in its whole and powdered forms as well as in the form of extracted oil which is extensively used as Herbal supplements, Therapeutic applications, Culinary, Tea Perfumery and Dye. The major importers of Indian fenugreek are Saudi Arabia, Japan, Malaysia, USA, The UK, Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Product Description :
USP : Our Organic Fenugreek is certified by SKAL International. Organic fenugreek extract contains 20% 4-Hydroxy-isoleucine, 40% 4-Hydroxy-isoleucine, and Natural fiber. The volatile oil content of organic fenugreek is very small (less than 0.02%). It also contains fixed oils at about 5% - 7%. They contain the alkaloids trigonelline and choline and a yellow coloring matter. It is rich in proteins, minerals and vitamins.

Biological Details : Fenugreek plant is a quick-growing annual leguminous herb about 2 feet in height. Leaves are light green in color. Fenugreek plant blooms white flowers in the summer. Fenugreek seed pods contain ten to twenty small, flat, yellow-brown, pungent, aromatic seeds. The seeds is about 1/8 inch long, oblong, rhomboidal, with a deep furrow dividing them into two unequal lobes. Fenugreek seeds have a strong aroma and bitter in taste.

Cultivation of Fenugreek : Prepare soil by adding plenty of composted organic material. Add a ration of lime if the soil is acid. A sunny, well-drained position and adequate water is required. Seed is sown in situ in spring.

Climate : Fenugreek grows well in cold climate. It has good resistance against snow.

Soil : Fenugreek grows well in Red loamy, Black & clay soils.
